Will go to London for a week for C.E.M.A. and National Theatre meetings. Hopes to visit the Shaws, as Charlotte Shaw is in a bad way. [Continues on a separate sheet on 9 July]. His trip to London and the conditions there. The Old Vic is roofless and the company touring. Saw its productions of Comus and Hamlet. Met Paul Shelving at the ballet. In Birmingham Basil Langton is in the open air production and the Old Vic students are at the Repertory Theatre with Ibsen's John Gabriel Borkman and Squaring the Circle |
