It includes correspondence and papers, for example, relating to his involvement with the International Federation of Library Associations (IFLA), SCAUL, the Panizzi lectures he delivered in 1987, the British Council, and his work as a consultant. Included are files on the international symposiums and conferences he attended all over the world relating to librarianship and related studies.
There are also papers relating to his involvement with the Birmimgham University Athletic Union: he served as President of the University's Men's Athletic Club.
