TitleLetter from Sir James Augustus Henry Murray to Edward Arber
Extent1 item
Date1904
DescriptionWritten from Oxford, dated 24 December. Murray [1837-1915, lexicographer] writes about his work on the dictionary, writing that the amount of labour required cannot be fully realised by anyone else. He asks Arber to send a chronological record of his career and publications. He writes that [his son] Jowett has a demyship at Magdalen College. On a separate page he regrets the 'self-centred' tone of his letter and goes on to praise Arber's work, which he feels is under-appreciated. With envelope.
