| Description | This series contains items relating to Arber's education in Paris and at King's College, London, and a small number of printed items relating to the organisation of the Admiralty (where Arber worked as a clerk until 1878). There are documents relating to Arber's academic career including copies of his applications to Mason College and University College London, a programme of lectures given by Arber at Mason College, and papers relating to his work as an examiner. Other items connected with Mason College include reports, printed exam results, a concert programme, theatre programme, and notes relating to the formation of the Poesy Club. The series also includes invitations and menus from events such as the Bodleian Tercentenary, and numerous receipts, including receipts for subscriptions to societies. Two items date from after Arber's death, including a catalogue for the sale of his library. |
