Description
Letter dated March 10 1916 written from the head quarters of the Imperial Army. Dolgorukov writes to say that adverse weather conditions have been hindering the Russians progress as everywhere roads are impassable, however the supply of guns and rifles are progressing satisfactorily. He reports that Kuropatkin has been given the guards group consisting of 18 Army Corps and that three former Russian battleships have been bought from Japan. Fredericksz has had an offer of talks with his friend Roosevelt on peace negotiations which the Tsar has ordered to be passed on to Sazonov. Operations in the Caucasus are reportedly going well but there is a great fear of gas attacks.
