| Description | Minutes and meeting papers concerning the national governance of the YHA, including issues such as hostel and property management, policy and strategic overview, sales and business interests, educational provision, international co-operation and holidays, countryside management and campaigns, hostel standards, membership, and celebrations. The records principally date from 1993, after YHA's structural reorganisation in 1993, and relate to both the Youth Hostels Association (England and Wales), and the YHA (England and Wales) Limited, (previously the Youth Hostels Trust).
The main series of minutes and meeting papers can be found in YHA/NG/3/1, with files organised by date.
There is some duplication of minutes over different files where multiple copies of minutes were kept. Files solely consisting of duplicates as well as loose duplicates have been removed.
An almost complete set of minutes for meeting of the board of trustees and the signing and sealing committee between 1993 and March 1998 can be found in YHA/NG/3/2. Further minutes and papers, and minutes from 1998 onwards can be found in YHA/NG/3/1. Duplicates have been kept with original files.
Original groupings of files have been kept to relfect the organisational arrangement of files.
