| Administrative History | The National Committee was formed in September 1880 at the National Conference of YMCAs held at Manchester in an attempt to create a national organization and was charged with the general oversight of YMCAs and the work of Travelling Secretaries. The Committee ended in August 1882 after not motion was made for its reappointment at the Glasgow Conference. The National Committee was a forerunner to the National Council. |
