| Administrative History | The Migration Department was created out of the work of the Red Triangle Hospitality League upon its disbandment. The aim of the Department was to provisionally provide advice and possible assistance to young men in Great Britian, whether members or non-members of the YMCA, regarding migration to other countries. Key aspects of work include the Church Nomination Scheme; Port Secretaries' work; advice section; work with the Overseas Settlement Department; Forest Green Training School for Girls; and British Boys for British Farms Scheme.
During its lifetime over 5,000 settlers were sent overseas as part of its work. |
