| Description | A Monochrome photograph taken inside the construction of the YMCA Winton Hut. It shows the roof partially constructed and two men stood at the far end of the hut at the door.
The original YMCA Winton was in the YMCA Mission Room at the Gospel Mission Hall on Wycliffe Road. From 1914, a purpose-built hut was set up as a recreation centre for troops destined for the trenches. They eventually moved to the current Jameson Road site in 1920 and a new building was erected in 1928. |
