| Administrative History | Originally of the Royal Fusiliers but was then transferred to the Reconnaissance Corp before finally being transferred to the Royal Army Ordnance Corp during the Second World War. He had qualified as a solicitor in May 1938 and was working in London when he was called up on 1940. Left England in August 1945 as a Lieutenant in the Royal Army Ordnance Corps, going initially to Cairo. He was then promoted to Captain and moved on to Beirut and Damascus before embarking for the UK on the 30th March 1946 when he was eventually demobbed on the 5th May 1946. |
