The group are wearing British tropical hats and convalescent uniform known as 'Hospital Blues' or 'Convalescent Blues', consisting of a white shirt and blue button up jacket, red tie and blue cuffed trousers. Some of the Scottish soldiers can be seen wearing Balmoral bonnets. One man in the foreground can be seen with a bandage around his face.
