Description
Black and white photograph of the arrival of convalescent soldiers to a Lena Ashwell Garden Party in Cairo. The group are wearing British tropical hats and convalescent uniform known as 'Hospital Blues' or 'Convalescent Blues', consisting of a white shirt and blue button up jacket, red tie and blue cuffed trousers. One Scottish soldier on the right can be seen wearing a Glengarry cap. A black soldier can be seen stood towards the right side of the group in convalescent uniform and ?[a British service cap]. They are stood in front of a tram that has blinds covering the windows. It is parked in front of the Bristol Hotel.
