| Administrative History | Geoffrey Palmer was born in in 1927 in Bristol. He went to Durham University, after the Second World War, to study for a Diploma of Education. He became a tutor at Kingsgate College in 1952. From 1955-1965 he taught an industrial course at Cheshunt College in Cambridge. Between 1965 and 1975 he was the Education Secretary for the National Council of YMCAs. Between 1975-1979 he was the General Programme Director for London Central YMCA and then Director of Christian Purposes between 1979-1988. After his retirement he became a Resident Historian of the YMCA and London Central YMCA. |
