PROFESSIONAL HISTORY

Established Hardware factors in Birmingham with William Chance [1749-1828]. Traded first in premises in Church Street, rented properties from William Chance's uncle. In 1804 formed a new partnership with William Chance and Chance's son, Robert Lucas Chance, known as Chance, Homer and Chance. In 1807 Homer relinquished his shares in the factoring trade, and brass, copper and paper trade. Homer also held shares with William Chance and John Robert Lucas in the Nailsea Crown Glassworks.
