In 1809 he joined the family hardware factoring firm, then renamed William Chance and Sons. Managed the company, and in 1832 became a partner in his brother Robert Lucas' glass manufacturing business, later known as Chance and Brothers.
In 1815 William also set up an independent export company with his brother George based in Great Charles' Street, Birmingham. |
