Activity | Reverend John Paul Burrough arrived in Korea in June 1951, during the worst days of the Korean War when the Bishop of the Diocese of Korea, Cecil Cooper, was a prisoner and the Headquarters of the Church was exiled to Pusan in the extreme south. He was responsible for starting the St Nicholas Shelter for homeless children in Pusan, and was also associated with work amongst lepers in his parish of Chung-ju. |
